One of My Favorites

Someone won't let me post this on Facebook, so I did it here.
It was taken during Tasted of DC, right next to Freedom Plaza.  Lobster roll was delicious, so was Japanese style hotdogs.

Newseum Trip

Capitol looked good, so did Jolin.
Jolin purchased tickets on Groupon, 50% of the original price.  Ri Ben Xiao Ge and Billy Ye came with us to Newseum the day before Thanksgiving.  Pretty impressive exhibitions about 911 and media development there.

Pumpkin Curving

Why so surprised?

Occupy Washington

The Occupy movement has been around for nearly half year now.  This was taken during the Occupy Washington at Freedom Plaza.

Turkey Day 2011

THIS IS THE BIRD!!!   We all gathered at Jolin's place for this Thanksgiving.  We had hot pot for dinner and tons of cookies for dessert.  The turkey came out of oven at 9pm after being in there for almost 7 hours.  Although it's not as juicy or tasty, not bad for the first time.

Happy Holiday!

Roosevelt Island

Roosevelt Island look like a place of barbarian from the outside.  Well, it's still kind of like it from the inside.  However, it provides a 100% natural forest in the middle of the city.  It locates by Potomac River and has the complete view of Georgetown Waterfront.
There are lots of ducks on the bank.  Amazingly, they are not afraid of humans, even when I took a picture so close, they ignored me as if I didn't exist.

Other Side of Waterfront

Never see waterfront from the front?  Here it is.  I was on the George Washington Parkway taking this picture.  It was the last sunny day before a rainy week.  Such a magnificent view on the bridge!  Only took several minutes walk from Kennedy Center.

Cambodian Kids

Cambodian kids go out selling souvenir when they are about five years old.  Most of them do not have the opportunities to go to school and receive education.  Very rare people have high school degrees.  Children there ask for candies and snacks from tourists.  That is their way to connect to the rest of the world.

Amazing Angkor Wat

I got back from Siem Reap yesterday.  Everything there was treasure.  It is unbelievable to see those temples and palaces built from stones eight hundreds years ago.  Absolutely amazing Angkor Wat was the highlight of the whole trip.  There are three sections of Angkor Wat, 地狱,人间,天堂.  I was wearing short shots that day, so I was not permitted to enter the "Heaven."

Beetle

It is BEETLE.  Have not see a real one since I was a kid.  This thing can fly actually, but it is too damn to realize itself has wings.  I took this photo when we went for berry picking.

Back for Updates

I have not updates this blog for extra long time.  Although I am bored for the most time, summer is going fast for me.  I am going to Cambodia tomorrow.  I have begged for this trip since my middle school graduation.  Eventually, I am going there.
My cousin and aunt is living with us this summer.  My cousin has an internship in the hospital and his mom comes for alleviate my mom's chore.
The picture above was taken in Dongqian Lake.  We went there for sunrise and got up at 4am.
The boat was fisherman's living tool.

Burned Popcorn

I thought I was way smarter than this.  I cannot even make popcorn!
That's why people need to read directions.  I microwaved this popcorn for six minutes.  I realized it was not right when smoke came out of my microwave and soon filled the whole room.
Burned popcorn does not taste anything like popcorn.....

Hot Pot of the Year

It was the hot pot of the year in Charlie Chiang.
We all enjoyed the fest and celebrated the last dinner together before freshmen year ends.
To keep the lid on or not was the question last night.

What a Movie Night

We eventually went to watch Rio last night.  I have wanted to watch that movie for a long long time. Jolin was dragged by me to watch this cute animation, with other 3 people.
After watching Rio, Jolin, Dage and I decided to sneak into the next room to watch one more movie.  Surprisingly, it was an independent film for History Channel.  Basically, it was a documentary that should be shown in Geology class.  I am not saying it wasn't a good film, it was just too much and too intelligent for three of us at midnight.
So we switched to the third room and watched Something Borrowed.  A very twisted story with hot actor....

Pig Feet

Pig feet, sounds nasty?  Nope, it is the most delicious thing.  Jolin was craving for it yesterday, so we went to Charlie Chiang for lunch.  And we ordered this none cut pig feet.
Meat was tender and juicy as always.

Tiramisu

We were actually studying. Tiramisu was just the treat for our "hard-wording".
Although the Tiramisu was frozen food, we all enjoyed it.

Finals are over!

Sorry for have not updating for a long time....
Finals are finally over for me.  I try not to think about the grade now.  It is the time to celebrate, who cares about the grades?
Well,  I knew my Accounting grade the night at Eckles while reviewing economics, not something I expected. It should be better.
Finals are torturing. That's all I can say.

Last Birthday of the Semester?

Last night, we dozens of people went to J.Paul for Xinyue and Ye Tianyu's birthday party.  I was shocked that Xinyue actually had the reservation for the almost entire upstairs.
Food was delicious, people were even more amazing.
Happy birthday, Xinyue, Ye Tianyu!

Need one more?

I should know how to play Mahjong.
My parents used to play it nearly every Friday with friends.  That was the night without restrictions for us kids.  Adults cared about money; we only cared about candy.
P.S Effie said they need one more person to play Mahjong with.

Jefferson Memorial

Today was the first time I actually went to Jefferson Memorial.  I always thought it was not walk-able, however, it was not bad at all for walking.
Again, nice weather and many people.

Smiling

Nice weather today.  I went to Jefferson Memorial with Jolin.  There were tons people just like EXPO.
Congrats!

Photographer Pose

Oh, trust me, a photographer can do any poses at the price of a good picture.

Cherry Blossom front of Jefferson Memories

I got up at 4:40am to get to Jefferson Memories before the sunrise.  It was the earliest I got up this year.  However, it was totally worth it after see the spectacular view.
The park was full of professional or unprofessional photographers, such as me.

That's how we end!

Can't you believe it? They are my dearest friends.  Some of them changed a lot, some of them didn't change at all.  We had a crazy life in our beautiful campus.  They are the best!

Pittsburgh

University of Pittsburgh was the first college I went for college visiting.
That was long time ago, about two years.
This was a very creative statue.

Anyway, this picture was taken in Nanjing many summers ago.

Geroge Washinton in Philly

We went to the Philadelphia Museum of Art this morning.  Very unfortunately, it was closed on Monday.  So we dragged our luggage back.  It was not like spring in Philly at all, it still feels like winter in the middle of March.
I love this statue.  It was such a piece of magnificent art.

Thank you for all the birthday gifts!

Thank you everyone for coming on Friday night. I am sorry that we had to ride Metro back and forth with our empty bellies.  The dinner was fantastic.
Hope you all enjoy it.

LOVE

The Japan earthquake hasn't happened when I posted the last post.
The Love Statue in Philly is the last thing we saw. Best Wish to Japan!

Young for You

How long have I not been in my school uniform?  My favorite uniform is from my lower school, maroon jacket and vast and white shirt with little red bow-tie.
That was lovely memory!
Look how young the girls are in the picture.  This picture was taken in Japan last summer.

This's what I call spring break

Spring break reminds me puzzles!  I did puzzles during spring break for the past three years.
Last year, I received this Chinatown puzzle for my birthday from Mrs. Decker.
Hopefully, I can finish one set pf puzzle this coming as well.

Winter is finally over.  It's warmer each day, and I can smell spring right around the corner.
The cherry tree outside is Hensley has already blossomed.
